Do I have to pay any additional charges in Austria for over the limit cigarettes?
In April I'm going to Austria. In duty free I am allowed to buy 2 cartoons of cigarettes totaling 400 cigis for 2 people. On the Internet I read that in Austria one person is allowed to bring in the country only 25 cigarettes. It means 50 cigis for 2 people. Capri, the brand I smoke, is sold only in USA duty free not even in Canada, our closest neighbor. It is much cheaper than in stores and don't want to miss a chance.

It depends from which country you are coming when you enter Austria if you come from any country outside the EU you are allowed to bring 200 cigarettes per person ( adults) inside the EU there are no duty free shops anymore and the limit you can bring from another country depends on the country you come from and the one you enter.

Even between two EU states alcohol and tobacco products are NOT unlimited.
It depends on the country of your origin for example the UK has very high amounts they accept as personal use.
Also specially for the EU countries close to Austria there are different amounts for Germany the Czech Republic and Hungary.

For any NON EU country it is 200 cigarettes.
