Cigarette Prices In Hawaii

Is stuff cheaper in the US or in Mexico?
Hi,

I am going to Mexico, and I was thinking of buying some things. I do not know whether it would be cheaper here or their though. I know it is in pesos, and that about 12-13 pesos is one dollor. But whould something usaly 5 dollars here be 60 peso's there?

It depends on the item

What part of Mexico you are in. Generally, if you are in an area with lots of white americans walking around (like Cancun) it will be about the same as the average US beach town, but cheaper than a Miami or Hawaii

The guy above went to Cabo. I have never been there, but I was told it is the most expensive of all Mexican tourist areas...

In fact, if you go to a tourist town, it even depends on the zone you are in. Many places have a tourist trap area where they jack up the prices, and if you walk a few blocks away the prices plummet. One great example is Cancun...just take the R-1 or R-2 bus downtown out of the Hotel Zone, and you will find the deals.

Otherwise..

Liquor, cigarettes, etc...all cheaper

Food, cheaper

Electronics, more expensive

Anything imported from the US, more expensive

Anything with a name brand that would be popular in the US, more expensive

regular clothes and other things if you don't care about the label or who made it..cheaper

cars, more expensive
