Is it safe to smoke the herbal cigarettes they sell at Asian grocery stores?
I know sometimes herbal cigarettes that you can buy legally in the United States can have mind altering substances in them, would this be especially true of the herbal cigarettes they sell at Asian grocery stores?
I know "safe" isn't the right word as we are talking about inhaling smoke, but you know what I mean.
If it isn't safe, which brands ARE safe and where can I get them?

Herbal cigarettes are most often made using standard-issue rolling papers and filters. Instead of tobacco as a filling, however, a wide range of consumable products may be used. Cornsilk as well as a number of flavorful herbs such as mint, cinnamon or lemongrass have been utilized by a wide number of herbal cigarette producers. Other manufacturers have included non-herbs like rose petals or clover leaves.
While most brands of herbal cigarettes contain no psychoactive substances (often times intentionally avoided so as to not create a dependency upon a different substance while trying to help relieve tobacco smokers of their need for nicotine), several known types contain various amounts of mild psychoactives.

Here's the bottom line: no cigarettes are completely safe. The most popular 'alternative' cigarettes are:
1. American Spirit - Nicotine free; they are the ones with the Indian logo and are usually sold alongside traditional cigarettes, and
2. Clove cigarettes - They contain nicotine, and usually taste very sweet from the clove in them. These produce really, really heavy smoke.
As you can see from my name, I smoke electronic cigarettes because I needed a method to get off nicotine and you can buy nicotine free cartridges. Though I've found this to be the safest option, inhaling any type of smoke is probably not ideal. Hope this helps!
