Why do people smoke cigarettes if they know its killing them?
Besides them being addicted or trying to socially fit in, what are the reasons why people still smoke cigarettes? Is it true that a long time ago people thought cigarettes was good for them?

B/c they enjoy them, either b/c they like the smell of smoke, or b/c of the social image the cigarettes have.
Just one of many cases where people trade length of life for quality of it - alcohol, unhealthy food, TV vs. exercise.
